Zaw Zaw drives social responsibility through football in Myanmar

Kuala Lumpur: When the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) established the AFC Dream Asia Foundation in 2017, it was driven by the ambition of harnessing the unparalleled power of football to uplift the most vulnerable communities across Asia, aptly under the theme of “Football Cares”.

Since then, the world has been faced with dark times and Asia has been no exception. 
 
The challenges have been numerous - from floods and droughts to a deadly global pandemic. However, the gravity of such crises has been more than matched by the resolute dedication of our many heroes and heroines from all walks of life, who have risen to meet the challenges.

AFC Social Responsibility Strategy 2023-2027 looks to spark meaningful impact

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s ambitions through its Vision and Mission to use football as a powerful force for social development marked its latest milestone today with the launch of the AFC’s Social Responsibility Strategy for 2023-2027.

The landmark strategy aligns with those of the AFC’s Member Associations (MAs), Regional Associations (RAs) and international partners and stakeholders in that it has the collective aspiration to enrich lives and empower marginalised communities across the Continent.

ISF-AFC Dream Asia Legacy Project expands to Cambodia’s Battambang Province

Phnom Penh: The AFC Dream Asia Foundation’s collaboration with the Indochina Starfish Foundation (ISF) will reach new territory when the ISF-AFC Dream Asia Legacy Project stretches to the Battambang province of Cambodia.

As part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Football Federation of Cambodia and the ISF, the five-year programme seeks to empower children from underprivileged backgrounds by increasing access to sports, improved health, and opportunities to build life-skills.

AFC joins United Nations’ Football for the Goals initiative

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s commitment towards leveraging the power of football to instill positive change marked a significant milestone today after the Confederation was confirmed as the latest member of the United Nations’ (UN) Football for the Goals (FFTG) initiative.

As the most populous Continent and home to two-thirds of the world’s youth in Asia, this collaboration will see the AFC play an integral part in advocating for and implementing policies aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
