AIFF, FAS earn Pro License memberships under AFC Coaching Convention

Kuala Lumpur: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) and the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) became the latest Member Associations (MAs) to be conferred with Pro License memberships under the Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s Coaching Convention in October and September 2022 respectively.

Besides a range of practical activities, the AFC assessors conducted several virtual modules comprising theoretical discussions on technical tasks while the in-person visit laid considerable importance on physical fitness.

Bangkok: Defending champions Thailand will take on Malaysia for a place in the final of the 2022 AFF Cup as the two sides meet in the second leg of the semi-final at Thammasat Stadium in Bangkok on Tuesday. 

Six-time champions Thailand have their work cut out to keep their title defence alive after Malaysia claimed a 1-0 win in the first leg at Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Saturday. 
 
Birthday boy Faisal Halim scored the only goal of the contest in Kuala Lumpur as he volleyed home a headed assist from V. Ruventhiran in the 11th minute, before Kim Pan-gon’s players shut out Thailand to carry the advantage to the return leg.

Stage set for Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024 Asian Qualifiers Round 1 draw

Kuala Lumpur: The race to represent Asia at the 2024 Paris Olympics will kick off with the official draw ceremony of the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament 2024 Asian Qualifiers Round 1 at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) House on January 12, 2023 at 3pm. 

Since the inaugural edition, Asia’s best performances have come from China PR’s silver in 1996 followed by Japan repeating the feat in 2012. The 2024 edition of the contest will see Asian teams strive for a podium-finish for the third time.
