GFA and FAM receive Silver status in AFC Grassroots Charter

Kuala Lumpur: The Guam Football Association (GFA) and Football Association of Malaysia (FAM)’s AFC Grassroots Charter membership have been upgraded to Silver as a result of their commitment to continue raising the level of grassroots football. 

Under strict health and safety protocols due to the pandemic, the GFA and FAM have shown resilience and forward-thinking by organising grassroots activities for various age-groups, boys and girls, regardless of their abilities.

AFC Women’s Football Day celebration returns for 8th edition

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and its Member Associations (MAs) will celebrate the 8th AFC Women’s Football Day today as football competitions and activities continue to make a return in the Continent.

Coinciding with the International Women’s Day, 39 MAs will join the annual celebrations with fun-filled football activities focused on promoting the sport across Asia in a safe and conducive environment.

Lavicka takes charge of Kuwait

Kuwait City: Vitezslav Lavicka has been named as head coach of the Kuwait men’s national team.

The 58-year-old replaces Kuwaiti Thamer Enad with his first major assignment being the AFC Asian Cup China 2023™ Qualifiers Final Round in June.

Kuwait, the only former winners in the draw, will host Group A with Jordan, Indonesia and Nepal for company.

Goa: Ritwik Das was the hero as Jamshedpur FC defeated ATK Mohun Bagan 1-0 to lift the Indian Super League Winner’s Shield in Goa on Monday.

It was a historic victory for the Red Miners as they lifted the Shield for the first time in their history.
