Riyadh: Al Hilal defended their Saudi Pro League (SPL) crown to claim their 15th title after beating Al Fateh 4-1 on Thursday, at the King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh.
Omar Khribin’s first half hat-trick, along with Achraf Bencharki finding the back of the net laid the foundations for an emphatic win.
Khribin, the 2017 AFC Player of the Year gave Al Hilal an early lead in the seventh minute with a stunning free kick, before doubling his side’s advantage seven minutes later when he beat Al Fateh’s goalkeeper Ali Al Mazyadei, courtesy of a long-range pass from Osama Hawsawi.
Al Hilal continued their dominant performance and spectacular teamwork, which paid dividends in the 36th minute as Khribin completed his hat-trick when he slid the ball home from close range.
Four minutes later, Yaser Al Shahrani ran down the left flank before sending a superb pass into the middle of the box that found Bencharki, where he made no mistake to make it 4-0 in the 40th minute.
