Dammam: Defending Saudi Pro League champions and AFC Champions League 2014 debutants Al Fateh continued their resurrections from a disastrous start of the domestic league campaign by registering a back-to-back league victory as they edged rock-bottom Al Nahdah 2-1 away from home.
With the win, Al Fateh moved at the ninth position in the 14-team league with 17 points – 19 points behind leaders Al Nassr who have a match in hand.
Abudllah El Abdullah opened Al Fateh’s account in the 28th minute but Mohamed Qasem scored the equaliser with just 16 minute remaining for the relegation battlers.
However, Brazilian Elton Gomes sealed all three points for Fateh by scoring a winning goal with just four minutes remaining in the match.
Al Fateh are in Group D where they face Iran’s newcomers Foolad Khouzestan, Uzbek giants Bunyodkor and the winner of ACL Play Off 3.1 from the West Zone.
