Golmohammadi dedicates AFC Champions League win to Persepolis fans
Doha: Head coach Yahya Golmohammadi thanked Persepolis FC's fans after the Islamic Republic of Iran champions defeated Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr on penalties to reach the 2020 AFC Champions League final on Saturday.
Going into the semi-final clash at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium without their star striker Isa Al Kasir who was earlier suspended for six months for violating Article 58.1 of the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Code, Persepolis came from behind to rescue a 1-1 draw before winning 5-3 on penalties.

Doha: Midfielder Bashar Resan said Persepolis FC's fighting spirit sealed them a place in the 2020 AFC Champions League final as the Islamic Republic of Iran side saw off Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr in the semi-final on Saturday.
Despite going behind to Abderrazzak Hamdallah's penalty - which Resan conceded - in the 36th minute and having to play the final 16 minutes of extra time with 10 men at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, Persepolis persevered as they showed nerves of steel to win the penalty shootout 5-3, with goalkeeper Hamed Lak saving Al Nassr's fourth spot-kick taken by Maicon.
Resan, who redeemed himself for conceding the penalty by sending an inch perfect for Mehdi Abdi Qara to draw Persepolis level in the 42nd minute, paid tribute to the resilience of his teammates.

Persepolis goalkeeper Hamed Lak was the hero as he saved An Nassr's fourth spot-kick - taken by Maicon - as the Islamic Republic of Iran side advanced to their second AFC Champions League final in three years and denied Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr a maiden appearance in the continental final.
Doha: Reigning Qatar Stars League champions Al Duhail SC announced on Saturday that they have parted ways with head coach Walid Regragui.
The club announced on their official Twitter account that they have agreed with the 45-year-old Redragui to terminate his contract, with the Moroccan having replaced Portuguese Rui Faria as head coach nine months ago.
