Group G: Incheon United FC (KOR) 2-1 Yokohama F. Marinos (JPN)

Incheon: Incheon United bolstered their chances of making it to the knockout stages of the AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 by defeating Yokohama F. Marinos 2-1 in their penultimate Group G fixture on Tuesday. 

Hong Si-hoo gave the K League 1 side an early lead in the 11th minute before substitute Hernandes Rodrigues doubled their lead in the second half at Incheon Football Stadium. Elber pulled one back for the visitors in the 83rd minute, but Incheon held on to match Yokohama on nine points.

Kawasaki: Kawasaki Frontale sealed their spot in the next round of the AFC Champions League™
2023/24 as a 5-0 win over Johor Darul Ta'zim at Todoroki Stadium on Tuesday delivered a fifth win in a row to confirm Toru Oniki’s side as the Group I winners.

Frontale’s 15 points gives them an unassailable lead with the Japanese side to close out their group campaign against Ulsan Hyundai in Korea Republic on December 12.
 
Veteran playmaker Akihiro Ienaga was instrumental in Frontale’s win, scoring the opener and setting up Leandro Damiao for the second before goals from Marcinho, Yu Kobayashi and Miki Yamane completed a comfortable win for the Japanese side.

Group I: BG Pathum United (THA) 1-3 Ulsan Hyundai FC (KOR)

Pathum Thani: Ulsan Hyundai confirmed second place in Group I in the AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 on Tuesday as Hong Myung-bo’s side handed BG Pathum United a 3-1 defeat at Pathum Thani Stadium.

An 13th minute own-goal saw Ulsan take the lead with Gustav Ludwigson adding a second before half-time. Lee Myung-jae made it 3-0 after the break, before Igor Sergeev restored some respectability to the scoreline for BG Pathum.

Ulsan’s win, coupled with Kawasaki Frontale’s victory over Johor Darul Ta’zim that saw the J1 League club secure top spot, sees the Korean outfit secure the runners-up place courtesy of a superior head-to-head record against third-placed JDT regardless of results on Matchday Six.
