Jeonju: Lee Myung-joo is desperate to repay Al Ain for the faith they have shown in him during his time at the club by helping the Emiratis win the 2016 AFC Champions League, as the inaugural champions prepare for the first leg of the final against Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors on Saturday.
The clash at Jeonju World Cup Stadium will be the only club game the former Pohang Steelers midfielder has played in his native Korea Republic since signing for Al Ain in mid-2014, after the Emiratis booked their place in a first final since 2005 by ousting El Jaish in the last four.
And with national service requirements meaning the 26-year-old will return to his homeland at the end of his current contract, Lee is hoping to bring the curtain down on his career at Al Ain in style by leaving on a high note.
