Saitama: BG Pathum United head coach Makoto Teguramori has set his sights on taking the Thai League 1 side into uncharted territory on Friday when they face Hong Kong’s Kitchee SC in the Round of 16 of the AFC Champions League 2022™ at Urawa Komaba Stadium.

The club from Pathum Thani are appearing in the knockout phase for the second season in a row but, after falling to Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors at the same stage last year, the Japanese coach is determined to lead BG Pathum United into the quarter-finals this time around.

Alajuela: Japan were at their best to beat USA 3-1 to secure top spot in Group D of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022 on Wednesday. 

Three second half goals from Manaka Matsukubo, Shinomi Koyama and Haruna Tabata saw the 2018 champions advance to the quarter-finals with a perfect record of three wins for a face-off with Group C runners-up France Sunday.

Bakaev targets further improvement as clinical PFC Sogdiana book Inter-Zone Semi-final ticket

Khujand City: PFC Sogdiana were at their clinical best as they continued their dream AFC Cup™ debut campaign by beating FC Khujand 4-0 in the Central Zonal final on Wednesday , but head coach Ulugbek Bakaev wants his side to improve even further heading into the Inter-Zone Semi-finals.

Three goals in the first half gave Sogdiana a comfortable lead, with Javokhir Kakhramonov sealing a convincing win for the Uzbek Super League club with his strike in the 78th minute as they advanced to a showdown with Hong Kong's Eastern Long Lions in the Inter-Zone Semi-finals on September 6.
