Safawi focused on JDT despite Portugal link

Kuala Lumpur: Europe may be on the horizon but Safawi Rasid is focused on his immediate target - powering Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) in the Malaysian Super League and 2020 AFC Champions League.

The Malaysian forward has been linked with a move to Portuguese club Portimonense SC and JDT have given their blessings.

The move, however, is subject to both clubs agreeing terms and Safawi, 23, said he will not let the negotiations disturb his focus.

Team Melli’s Taremi signs with FC Porto

Porto: Islamic Republic of Iran forward Mehdi Taremi has completed a transfer to FC Porto, joining the Portuguese giants on a four-year deal announced in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The former Persepolis and Al Gharafa sharpshooter becomes the first Iranian to sign for the 28-time champions, joining Sérgio Conceição’s side having scored 18 league goals for Porto’s Primeira Liga rivals Rio Ave last campaign,

The deal will give Taremi, 28, the chance to complete a long-held ambition of playing in the UEFA Champions League, with Porto qualifying for the 2020-21 group stage as Portuguese champions.

Marseille: Marseille on Monday completed the signing of Japanese international left-back Yuto Nagatomo on a free transfer from Galatasaray.
