Seoul: AFC Champions League 2013 finalists FC Seoul rediscovered their goal-scoring form after coming from behind to inflict a 2-1 defeat on Sangju Sangmu in a K League Classic match on Wednesday.
Seoul are still struggling in the league, with the win keeping them in seventh position in the 12-team league with 21 points from 17 matches – 13 points behind their ACL quarter-finals opponents and league leaders Pohang Steelers.
The capital side were in danger of slipping further down the league table when Kim Chang-hoon put the visitors 1-0 ahead in the 58th minute but their foreign recruits saved the day with two quick goals later in the match.
Colombian Mauricio Molina drew the score level at 1-1 in the 70th minute and Spain-born Sergio Escudero (pic) struck the winner in the 82nd minute.
The last two matches between the Korean ACL quarter-finalists ended in a draw in regulation time as they prepare for next month’s mouth-watering double headers starting with Seoul’s short trip to Pohang on August 20.
