Seongnam: AFC Champions League 2012 Group G side Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma have signed Korea Republic attacking midfielder Yoon Bitgaram from Gyeongnam FC.
The 21-year-old scored 17 goals and provided 14 assists in 61 games for Gyeongnam was Korea's Rookie of the Year in 2010 and featured in last year's K-League Best 11.
Yoon, who came off the bench to score the extra-time winner in Korea Republic's 1-0 defeat of Iran in the quarter-finals of the 2011 AFC Asian Cup, is seen as a key component to Seongnam's quest for silverware this season, which includes the Korean FA Cup winners' fifth appearance in Asia's premier club competition.
"We have signed Yoon Bitgaram to be part of our challenge to win the K-League and the 2012 AFC Champions League," Seongnam said in a statement published on espnstar.com.
"Naturally, he will strengthen the team and help us increase our fan base."
Seongnam, AFC Champions League winners in 2010, open their 2012 ACL campaign on March 7 when they take on Nagoya Grampus in Japan.
