#ACLTwo contenders set for Knockout Stage draw

Kuala Lumpur: The stage is set for the 16 remaining sides in the AFC Champions League Two™ (ACL Two) 2024/25 to discover their Knockout Stage fate at the draw ceremony on Thursday, December 12 at 3pm at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur.

Eight teams each from the West and East regions successfully progressed from the Group Stage, which concluded on Thursday, to seal their Round of 16 berths in the 20th edition of the Continent’s second-tier men’s tournament and keep their hopes of glory alive.

Singapore: Song Ui-young was over the moon after powering Lion City Sailors into the AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 knockout stage with a sensational hat-trick against Thailand’s Port FC on Thursday.

Leading 2-0 after Song’s first half brace, the Singapore side found themselves pegged back as Port drew level but the midfielder restored Sailors’ advantage with a spectacular bicycle kick with Shawal Anuar and Lennart Thy then putting gloss on the victory which took them into the next stage as the Group F winners.

Sydney: Head coach Ufuk Talay beamed with pride after his experimental Sydney FC side defeated Kaya FC-Iloilo of the Philippines 3-1 in the AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 on Thursday.

Emerging talents Adrian Segecic, Patrick Wood and Jaiden Kucharski etched their name on the scoreboard with a goal each to seal second spot for Sydney in Group E with 12 points.

Bangkok: It was an evening to remember for Uthai Bunmo and his charges as Muangthong United secured a dramatic 1-0 victory over Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors to confirm their spot in the knockout stage of the AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25.

The decisive moment came late in the first half, with Muangthong’s relentless attacks finally breaking through Jeonbuk’s defence, which proved enough for the Thai side to secure second spot in Group H.
