Pyongyang: Goals from Pak Myong-song and Pak Kun-hyok either side of half-time ensured honours were even in the Pyongyang derby on Tuesday as 4.25 SC’s 1-1 draw with Kigwancha SC keeps the hosts top of Group I after two games.
Both DPR Korean clubs had beaten Mongolia’s Erchim FC ahead of the meeting at May Day Stadium but 4.25’s superior margin of victory now sees them leading the group on goal difference.
The Group I leaders went ahead on the stroke of half-time thanks to defender Pak Myong-song but the scores were levelled just 11 minutes after the break through fellow No. 26 Pak Kun-hyok.
The 2017 AFC Cup leading scorer Kim Yu-song had netted five times in 4.25’s previous continental outing against Erchim but the DPR Korean striker found his compatriots’ backline difficult to breakdown as the two sides settled for a point apiece, with Group I still intriguingly poised.
