Al Ahed's Mohammed boosted by win over Al Nahda

Muscat: Al Ahed head coach Raafat Mohammed believes his side's AFC Cup™ 2023/24 win over Al Nahda will galvanise his players into reaching the knockout stage.

Lebanon's Al Ahed, the 2019 AFC Cup winners, fought back from a goal down to defeat Oman's Al Nahda 2-1 in the Group A tie at the Seeb Sports Stadium.

Manama: Bahrain’s Al Riffa got their AFC Cup™ 2023/24 campaign off to a flying start by defeating Lebanon’s Nejmeh SC 2-0 at the Khalifa Sports City Stadium on Monday.

The win takes Al Riffa top of Group C on goal difference, ahead of Kuwait’s Al Arabi SC who enjoyed a 2-1 win over Iraq’s Al Zawraa SC in the group’s other match.

Zarqa: Palestine's Jabal Al Mukaber Club kicked off their AFC Cup™ 2023/24 Group A campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Al Futuwa SC of Syria on Monday.

The win gives Jabal Al Mukaber a head start in the race for a stage in the knockout stage, with only the group winners assured of a place in the West Zonal semi-finals.

Basra: Kuwait Premier League side Al Arabi SC got off to a flying start in the AFC Cup™ 2023/24 with a 2-1 win against hosts Al Zawraa SC at the Basra International Stadium on Monday.

Within 10 minutes of play, Maytham Jabbar was forced to use his body to thwart an imminent 1-on-1 chance for Hamza Khabba, who would have gone in on goal had Jabbar not gotten himself in front of the ball to stop him, with the keeper sweeping up.

Muscat: Lebanon’s Al Ahed FC fought back from a goal down to defeat Al Nahda of Oman 2-1 in their AFC Cup™ 2023/2024 Group A fixture at the Seeb Sports Stadium on Monday.

After a tepid first half Billel Bensaha broke the deadlock to give Al Nahda the lead before Al Ahed replied through Khalil Khamis and substitute Karim Darwich to seal the victory.

Pune: Nassaji Mazandaran head coach Sayyed Mehdi Rahmati hailed his players after the Islamic Republic of Iran club marked their AFC Champions League™ debut with a 2-0 win over India's Mumbai City on Monday.

Goals from Ehsan Hosseini and Mohammadreza Azadi earned Rahmati's side a win which sees them occupying the Group D top spot after two-time champions Al Hilal SFC of Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan's Navbahor played to a 1-1 draw in the group's other fixture on Monday.
