Giancarlo’s first half goal gave PSM an early lead before strikes from Yakob Sayuri and Ferdinand Sinaga, in between Htet Phyo Wai’s consolation, sealed a 3-1 win for the Indonesian side.

A last-minute Ferdinand Sinaga goal killed off Shan United’s late revival, confirming their 12th loss in a row in the AFC Cup group stage, equalling a competition record set by Tajikistan’s FC Ravshan in 2014.

The draw moves both sides on to four points from their opening two games and keeps them both a point clear of third placed PSM Makassar from Indonesia, who defeated Myanmar’s Shan United earlier in the day.
