Kuwait City: Kazma stayed in the hunt to retain their Emir's Cup title after defeating Al Arabi 2-0 in the second-leg of their quarter-final clash on Tuesday to advance to the final four with a 3-2 aggregate win.
Kazma went into the match needing to overturn a 2-1 deficit following their home defeat last Tuesday and the 2012 AFC Group B side put the contest firmly in their favour, taking a 3-2 aggregate lead with just seven minutes played.
Mohammed Al Hadhoud leveled the tie on aggregate after only four minutes before Oman international Ismail Al Ajmi, who netted the winning goal as Kuwait Sports Club claimed the 2009 AFC Cup, scored what transpired to be the winning goal just three minutes later.
Despite having more than 83 minutes left to play, neither side were able to able to add to the score line and Al Arabi's disappointing day was compounded with the sending-off of Khaled Khalaf 60 seconds into second-half stoppage-time.
Kazma begin their 2012 AFC Cup campaign when they travel to Iraq to face Arbil, who took part in the 2008 AFC Champions League before reaching the quarter-finals of the AFC Cup the following year.
