Terengganu: AFC Cup 2012 quarter-finalists Kelantan missed the chance to go level on points with Singapore Lions XII at the top of the Malaysian Super League (MSL) standings after being held to a 2-2 draw by Terengganu.
Kelantan were 2-0 up with just 21 minutes at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium played after a sweetly-struck free-kick from captain Badri Radzi added to a fifth minute opener from Norfarhan Muhammad, who scored two goals as the Red Warriors defeated Terengganu 3-2 in the all-Malaysian AFC Cup Round of 16 clash in Kota Bharu last month.
But Terengganu fought back with last season's MSL topscorer Abdul Hadi Yahya reducing the deficit four minutes from the interval before Muslim Ahmad ensured the East Coast derby ended all-square when he headed home the equaliser five minutes into the second half.
The draw sees Kelantan, who have lost just once this MSL season, move up to 48 points from 21 matches, three games fewer than the league-leading Lions who have 50 points.
Kelantan take on Iraq outfit Arbil in the quarter-finals of the 2012 AFC Cup with last year's semi-finalists hosting the first-leg on September 18 before the action shifts to Malaysia for the return fixture a week later.
