Singapore: Home United needed an 82nd minute Franklin Anzite equaliser to draw 1-1 with Gombak United on Thursday as the AFC Cup 2012 Group G side's sluggish start to the 2012 season.
The Protectors, who followed up their 2-0 loss to fellow AFC Cup participants Tampines Rovers in the Charity Shield with a goalless draw against Balestier Khalsa in their S.League curtain-raiser, found themselves a goal down 25 minutes into Thursday's match at Bishan Stadium with Mustaqim Mazur giving Gombak a first-half lead.
But with eight minutes left to play, 26-year-old Central Africa Republic-born, French midfielder Anzite salvaged a point for the 2004 AFC Cup semi-finalists, who begin their 2012 continental campaign when they host Hong Kong's Citizen at the Jalan Besar Stadium on March 7.
