Kuala Lumpur: Clubs from Myanmar will take part in the AFC Cup for the first time next year after the AFC Competition's Committee approved their participation in the tournament.
Myanmar had been represented in the AFC President's Cup, with Yadanarbon winning the competition in 2010, but will now take part in the AFC's second-tier tournament while their place in the President's Cup will taken by Mongolia.
Myanmar champions Yangon United have direct entry to the 2012 AFC Cup while runners-up Ayeyawady United will compete in the four-team play-offs against Malaysia's knockout cup champions Terengganu in the East Zone while Victory from the Maldives and Yemen's Al Tilal will contest the West Zone playoff.
The winners of the playoffs will join the four losers from Round 2 of the AFC Champions League playoffs and the 26 other clubs in the group stage. The allocation for participating member associations in the 2012 AFC Cup is as follow:

The draw for the 2012 AFC Cup will take place at AFC House in Kuala Lumpur on December 6.
