Kuala Lumpur: The grandest spectacle of women’s football on the Continent will commence when 12 of Asia’s finest women’s national teams converge Down Under for the AFC Women's Asian Cup Australia 2026™, which kicks off on March 1.

The 21st edition of the competition will take place from March 1 to 21, 2026, across Perth, Gold Coast, and Sydney, featuring spectacular venues, including those used during the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023, as the tournament returns to Australia for the first time since 2006.

Ulsan’s Kim sees hope despite exit

Shanghai: Head coach Kim Hyeon-seog chose to look at the positives after his Ulsan HD FC’s goalless draw with Shanghai Port FC on Wednesday meant elimination from the AFC Champions League Two  2025/26™.

The two-time champions were pipped to the final Round of 16 spot by Gangwon FC, with their fellow Korea Republic side advancing on superior goal difference.

Shanghai: Ulsan HD FC crashed out of the AFC Champions League Elite 2025/26™ after only managing a 0-0 draw with Shanghai Port FC at the Pudong Football Stadium on Wednesday. 

The result saw the former champions missing out on the Round of 16 on goal difference to fellow Korea Republic side Gangwon FC, with both finishing on nine points.

Buriram: Mark Jackson was extremely proud after guiding Buriram United into the AFC Champions League Elite 2025/26™ Round of 16 following a 2-0 win against Shanghai Shenhua FC on Tuesday.

Adding to the 48-year-old head coach’s delight was the manner in which the win - Buriram’s fourth of the campaign - was achieved as the Thai side advanced from the League Stage for the second successive season.

Machida: Tete Yengi was delighted with his first start for FC Machida Zelvia after grabbing a brace in the 3-2 win against China PR’s Chengdu Rongcheng FC on Tuesday to fire the Japanese side to a top place finish in the East Zone of the AFC Champions League Elite 2025/26™ league phase.

Having joined the team in January on loan from Scottish Premiership side Livingston, the 25-year-old forward had only made two substitute appearances prior to the match against Chengdu and rewarded Go Kuroda’s faith with a pair of headers.

Buriram: Thailand’s Buriram United turned on the style to defeat Shanghai Shenhua FC 2-0 to advance to the AFC Champions League Elite 2025/26™ Round of 16 on Tuesday.

Their concluding tie at Buriram Stadium gave Mark Jackson’s side 14 points to ensure qualification, while China PR’s Shanghai Shenhua closed their tourney 10 points adrift.

Machida: Japan’s FC Machida Zelvia closed their AFC Champions League Elite 2025/26™ campaign with an easy 3-2 win over Chengdu Rongcheng FC at the Machida Stadium on Tuesday.

The win moved Go Kuroda’s side to 17 points with the possibility of topping the East Zone standings while Chengdu’s hopes of progressing came to an end, with the China PR side ending their campaign in 10th position.
