Tokyo: Chengdu Rongcheng FC strengthened their position at the top of the Chinese Super League, while defending champions Shanghai Port FC continued to struggle.

In Japan, Kashima Antlers and Vissel Kobe maintained their leads in Group A and B respectively, while FC Seoul moved clear at the top in Korea Republic after edging Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.

Pathum Thani: China PR head coach Colin Bell was delighted as his side punched their ticket to the last four of the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026™, following a 2-1 win against Uzbekistan in the quarter-finals on Saturday.

In securing a semi-final berth, the 2006 champions also ensured they would be one of Asia’s four representatives at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland later this year, giving Bell all the more reason to celebrate with his side to play Japan in the semi-finals.

Pathum Thani: Heartbreak and pride were the two emotions Vladimir Panov was grappling with as his Uzbekistan side exited the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026™ following a 2-1 defeat to China PR in the quarter-finals.

Despite being firmly outplayed in the first half and trailing by two goals, the Central Asians produced a gritty second-half performance, pulling one back and nearly equalising in the final 10 minutes.

Pathum Thani: China PR sealed their place in the last four of the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026 after defeating Uzbekistan 2-1 in the quarter-finals at Thammasat Stadium on Saturday.

The win means the 2006 champions will now face Japan in Wednesday’s semi-final, while also earning one of the four tickets to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026.

Bell pleased with ‘well-deserved’ China PR win

Thammasat: Thani: Head coach Colin Bell believes China PR saved their best for last after a 1-0 win over Thailand in their concluding Group A tie at the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026™ on Tuesday.

A 29th minute goal by Xiao Yafei from 20 yards out made all the difference as the 2006 champions closed their group stage campaign with a perfect three-match run.

Up next for China PR in the quarter-finals are the third-placed side from either Group B or C while Thailand will face the Group B winners.
