Timor-Leste Vice Prime Minister visits AFC House

Kuala Lumpur: His Excellency Dato’ Sri Francisco Kalbuadi Lay, Vice Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs, Minister of Tourism and Environment, of The Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste paid a courtesy visit to the home of Asian football at the AFC House in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, today morning.

AFC General Secretary Datuk Seri Windsor John received HE Dato' Sri Kalbuadi, who was joined by Her Excellency Joana Veneranda Amaral, the Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Malaysia, as well as a Timor-Leste delegation.

Group C: Al Ittihad edge Sepahan to take top spot

Mekkah:  Al Ittihad topped Group C with a 2-1 win over Sepahan FC in their AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 match at King Abdulaziz Stadium on Monday.

Al Ittihad’s victory saw the Saudi Arabian club top Group C with 15 points, while Sepahan finished five adrift in second place with their Round of 16 hopes hanging in the balance.

Doha: Uzbekistan’s Nasaf FC confirmed their place in the next round of the AFC Champions League™ 2023/24on Monday as winners of Group B with a dramatic 2-2 draw with Qatar’s Al Sadd in Doha that leaves the hosts sweating on their place in the last 16.

Al Sadd, who needed to win to boost their own hopes of a place in the Round of 16, took a fifth minute lead through Mateus Uribe but two goals in seven minutes late in the match from Jambbuk Jighauri proved crucial in the outcome of both the game and the group.

Amman: Al Faisaly came from a goal down to defeat Sharjah 2-1 in Group B of the AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 at Amman International Stadium on Monday.

The Emiratis had won 1-0 when the two sides met in Sharjah on Matchday Two, with Moussa Marega scoring the only goal back in October.
 
Al Faisaly had already been eliminated, having won only one of their first five matches in their maiden AFC Champions League campaign, while Sharjah’s hopes hinged on winning the match and other results going their way.

Group D: Al Hilal finish with a flourish

Riyadh: Al Hilal SFC of Saudi Arabia concluded their AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 Group D campaign to an end with a fifth consecutive win, defeating Nassaji Mazandaran 2-1 at the Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Stadium on Monday.

The win took their tally in Group D to 16 points while Islamic Republic of Iran's Nassaji can be proud of their maiden appearance in the competition, having collected six points.

Pune: Navbahor FC wrapped up their Group D AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 campaign in style with a convincing 2-1 win against hosts Mumbai City FC, on Monday at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Complex.

Group C: Air Force Club end in style

Erbil: Air Force Club wrapped up their AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 campaign with a comfortable 3-2 win against visitors AGMK FC of Uzbekistan in their final Group C outing at Franso Hariri Stadium on Monday.

Saad Abdulameer opened the scoring for the Iraqi side in the 14th minute before Franco Atchou’s stunning strike increased their lead a minute later. Mohammed Qasim then added a third before AGMK tried to find a way back with goals from Mirjakhon Mirakhmadov and Martin Boakye, but their comeback fell short.
