Shaikh Salman praises IR Iran on earning third AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup™ crown

Pattaya: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa has hailed the Islamic Republic of Iran on securing a record-equalling third AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup™ title after the Central Asians defeated Japan 6-0 in a thrilling AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 Final at the Jomtien Beach Arena in Pattaya on Sunday. 

Movahed Mohammadpour snatched the opener before a brace from Ali Mirshekari and a goal each from the tournament’s Most Valuable Player Moslem Mesigar and Mohammadali Mokhtari as well as an own goal by Japan’s Kosuke Matsuda saw IR Iran draw level with Japan on three titles each.

Hosseinabadi hails IR Iran’s determination, focus

Pattaya: Islamic Republic of Iran defeated Japan in the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 final on Sunday with a focused and determined approach, according to head coach Ali Naderi Hosseinabadi.

Iran put on a flawless display as they dominated the match from start to finish against a previously undefeated Japanese team at the Jomtien Beach Arena, with the Central Asian side cruising to a 6-0 win for a record-equalling third title.. 

Hosseinabadi praised his players for putting on their best performance and attributed their success to the hard work in training.

Japan’s Tabata vows to wrest back crown

Pattaya: Head coach Teruki Tabata has promised to win the title back for Japan following their painful 6-0 defeat to Islamic Republic of Iran in the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 final on Sunday.

Japan’s quest to win a record-extending fourth title was derailed by an inspired Iranian side at the Jomtien Beach Arena.

The three-time champions had been flawless until the final where they were outplayed by Iran, which Tabata says was really upsetting.

Pattaya: Oman head coach Talib Hilal believes his players' determination paved the way for a 4-2 win over United Arab Emirates in the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 third place playoff on Sunday.

Oman came back from a goal down to defeat UAE with Hilal saying that his team worked hard for the result.

Akaguma clinches Top Scorer award

Patttaya: Takuya Akaguma emerged the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 Top Scorer as the tournament came to a conclusion on Sunday. 

Although Akaguma did not score in the final as Japan fell to a 6-0 defeat, his 11 goals played a key role in taking the East Asian side into the decider and also book a place in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup UAE 2023.

Mirjajili played a key role in Iran's campaign, which climaxed with a 6-0 win over Japan in the final as the Central Asian side lifted the title for a record-equalling third time.
