Kuala Lumpur: The 2022 season is poised to start on a high note with the draw dates confirmed for the AFC Asian Cup China 2023 Qualifiers Final Round, AFC Futsal Asian Cup Kuwait 2022 Qualifiers and the AFC Champions League and AFC Cup Group Stages.

The AFC Futsal Asian Cup Kuwait 2022 Qualifiers will be the first draw held virtually on January 6 in Kuala Lumpur with a total of 32 Member Associations (MAs) battling for the available 15 slots to join hosts Kuwait.

Kuala Lumpur: Eagerly anticipated reforms designed to elevate AFC’s club competitions to the next level are set to be introduced in the near future.

While addressing the AFC Executive Committee on November 21, 2021, AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa said: “I am pleased to note that the AFC competitions continue to grow. There will be changes to the rules on foreign players, as well as to our competitions calendar. These are all part of the strategy to improve our players, clubs and national teams on the world stage.”

2021 AFC Champions League Final: Stats & Facts

Kuala Lumpur: Al Hilal SFC were crowned kings of Asia for a record fourth time after their 2-0 victory over Pohang Steelers in front of home support at King Fahd International Stadium on Tuesday saw the Saudi side win their second AFC Champions League title in three years. 

The final was the culmination of more than seven months of action in which the competition expanded to a record 40 sides as 11 teams made their AFC Champions League debuts in the group stage.

But in the end it was Asian football’s most successful side that came out on top as goals from Nasser Al Dawsari and Moussa Marega saw the trophy return to Riyadh once more.
