Bishkek: Nebojsa Jovovic was delighted with Kuwait SC's response after they fought back to edge FC Muras United 2-1 in their AFC Challenge League 2025/26™ semi-final on Wednesday.

Trailing to Amir Zhaparov's spectacular effort from a free-kick, Kuwait SC roared back to score through Mohamed Marhoonand and El Mehdi Barrahma either side of half-time to set up a final showdown with Cambodia's Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC.

Bishkek: Kuwait SC fought back from a goal down to win 2-1 against Kyrgyz Republic’s FC Muras United in Bishkek on Wednesday and book their place in the AFC Challenge League 2025/26™ final against Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC from Cambodia.

Amir Zhaparov gave the home side a 36th minute lead with a curling free-kick but goals either side of halftime by Mohamed Marhoon and Mehdi Barrahma earned Kuwait SC a ticket for next month’s decider.

Kuwait wiser after campaign, says Garcia

Jakarta: Head coach Bruno Garcia believes Kuwait have learnt much from their AFC Futsal Asian Cup Indonesia 2026™ campaign.

His side closed Group B with a lop-sided 7-2 win over fellow West Asian side Lebanon, with six different players finding the back of the net from the eighth minute onwards.

Kuwait had opened their competition with a 5-4 loss to Vietnam and then fell 6-1 to Thailand.

Jakarta: Kuwait ended their AFC Futsal Asian Cup Indonesia 2026™ campaign with a resounding 7-2 win against Lebanon on Saturday.

The victory was their first and secured them a third place finish in Group B, with Lebanon completing their journey with no points.
