Kuala Lumpur: Asia’s latest crop of rising stars will convene next month to showcase their abilities at the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2026™, which gets underway on May 1 (Friday).

The 10th edition of the tournament features an expanded roster of 12 teams—four more than each of the preceding four editions—and will be staged in the elegant city of Suzhou, as China PR plays host for a fourth time after 2011, 2013 and 2015.

Kuala Lumpur: The 12 hopefuls for the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2026™ discovered their road to continental glory following the Official Draw at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday.

The 12 teams - expanded from eight - were divided into three groups with the tournament to be contested between May 1 and 17, 2026.

Kuala Lumpur: The casts for both the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2026™ and AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™ will learn their Group Stage fate on February 12 (Thursday) at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Qualification for the next edition of Asia’s U17 women’s national team showpiece concluded in October 2025, with the eight group winners advancing to join four automatically-qualified sides. Meanwhile, seven group winners progressed from the Qualifiers for the men’s equivalent in November 2025 to complete the final line-up alongside nine automatic entrants.

Kuala Lumpur: The 12 teams who will vie for the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™ China 2026 title were confirmed on Friday following the conclusion of the Qualifiers.

The eight group winners advanced, joining the four AFC representatives from the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025 who automatically qualified - DPR Korea, Japan, Korea Republic and hosts China PR - in the tournament which has been expanded from eight to 12 teams.

Kuala Lumpur: The journey to reach the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™ China 2026 concluded on Friday with the eight group winners booking their tickets to the Finals.

The eight joined the four AFC representatives from the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025 who automatically qualified - DPR Korea, Japan, Korea Republic and hosts China PR - at the Finals.

Al Khobar: A stirring second half performance saw Lebanon overcome Islamic Republic of Iran 2-0 in their AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™ China 2026 Qualifiers Group A tie on Friday.

The win meant that Lebanon finished top of the group with seven points, one better than Iran, to punch their ticket to a first ever appearance at the Finals.

Saudi Arabia, meanwhile, ended their campaign on a high note with an 11-0 win against Kuwait.
