Kazma win Kuwait Emir Cup for eighth time

Kuwait City: Kazma came from behind to score two second-half goals to defeat Al Salmiya 2-1 to lift the 2021-22 Kuwait Emir Cup title at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium on Tuesday.

Kazma, who won the coveted trophy for the eighth time, were second best in the early minutes of the match as Al Salmiya created numerous chances.

Group A: Al Seeb impress against Al Ansar to make West Zonal Semi-finals

Seeb: Group A hosts Al Seeb Club recorded a comprehensive 4-0 victory against Lebanon’s Al Ansar on Matchday Three of the AFC Cup™ 2022 to book their place in the West Zonal Semi-finals.

The Bahraini side finished on six points, one ahead of three-time champions Kuwait SC who were held to a goalless draw by Syria's Jableh.

Al Seeb will play Kuwait's Al Arabi, the Group A winners, in the West Zonal Semi-finals.

Group B: Arabi through after stalemate with Dhofar

Kuwait City: Arabi SC booked a place in the AFC Cup™ 2022 West Zonal Semi-finals after playing to a 1-1 draw with Dhofar FC in their final Group B match at the Kuwait SC Stadium on Tuesday.

The result saw Kuwait's Al Arabi progressing to the next round courtesy of topping Group B with seven points. Dhofar, on the other hand, missed out as Al Riffa advanced as the best runners-up.

Arabi will play Oman's Al Seeb Club, the Group A winners, in the West Zonal Semi-finals.

Muharraq: East Riffa staged a stunning second half fightback to earn a 2-2 draw against Hilal Alquds in Group C on Tuesday to seal their place in the knockout stage of the AFC Cup™ 2022.

Mohammed Maraaba gave Palestine's Hilal Alquds a two-goal cushion before East Riffa came back fighting in the second half through goals from Jasim Khelaif and Luiz Fernando as the Bahraini side advanced to the West Zonal Semi-finals. as group winners. 

They will face Al Riffa in the West Zonal Semi-finals, with their fellow Bahraini side having advanced as the best runners-up.

Kolkata:  India’s ATK Mohun Bagan surged into the AFC Cup™ 2022 knockout stage with a 5-2 win over Maziya Sports & Recreation of the Maldives on Tuesday.

Needing a win and nothing less to secure top spot in Group D, the group hosts got up and running thanks to a first half brace from Finnish midfielder Joini Kauko, then went on with the job after half-time to delight the crowd at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan Stadium.

The result sent the Indian Super League outfit to the Inter-Zone Semi-finals for the second successive season, with the club to resume their continental campaign in early September.

Kuala Lumpur: The qualifying cast for the AFC U17 Asian Cup Bahrain 2023™ Qualifiers was finalised on Tuesday.
