Bangkok: There is a lot of potential among coaches taking part in a recently concluded basic football coaching course in Thailand that can be developed further, said an AFC coaching instructor.
Twenty-four participants finished a two-week AFC ‘C’ Coaching Certificate Course in the Thai capital city which had commenced on 27 January.
The course was instructed by AFC Coaching Instructor Arasu Muthu Suppiah who was assisted by Yatsuhashi Kenichi.
“There is a lot of potential among the participants in this course,” said Suppiah.
“Their willingness to learn made it easier for us to deliver our teaching and coaching. Almost all participants were very technically inclined and their standard of football was good. I wish them the best in their football endeavour.”
One of the participants, Kairung Threejansang, added his comments: ‘I have been a Thai national staff coach for some time but I still do not know many things in football.
“These two weeks, the instructor imparted to us much knowledge of football and I will bring all this to use in my coaching. I’d like to thank both instructors for giving us very useful knowledge.”
Another participant, Choketawee Promrut, expressed his sentiment, saying: “I have to thank both instructors because I have learnt a lot from them and the AFC and Football Association of Thailand for this great empowerment opportunity.
“The instructors were very friendly and made things easy to understand. The course has inspired me to be a professional coach at a higher level. It's an honour to be their student and to take part in this training opportunity.”
The ‘C’ is the basic coaching qualification, from which, holders can after meeting other requirements go on to take the higher ones, the ‘B’ and ‘A’ certificates, before sitting for the highest coaching qualification in the continent, the AFC Professional Coaching Diploma, commonly known as the Pro Diploma.
