Tashkent: Head coach Mirjalol Kasimov has named a 23-man squad that will look to win Uzbekistan's first continental title when they head to Australia for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.
The White Wolves midfield will feature plenty of experience with Uzbekistan's two most capped players Timur Kapadze and two-time AFC Asian Player of the Year Server Djeparov lining up for the side who finished fourth at the tournament’s 2011 edition in Qatar.
Kasimov picked 15 locally based players alongside eight players plying their trade abroad including Vitaliy Denisov and Odil Ahmedov who both play in Russia's top tier.
Uzbekistan will head into January's tournament in fine form having won six, drawn three and lost one of their past ten matches.
Having recorded a win and a draw against Iraq in the past week, Uzbekistan will head to Australia early in the New Year and open their AFC Asian Cup campaign on January 10 with a Group B clash against DPR Korea.
They are then scheduled to face China and Saudi Arabia on January 14 and 18 respectively.
