Yangon: A final meeting has taken place in Yangon as Myanmar’s participation in the AFC Pilot Member Association Project for Refereeing Development came to its conclusion.
The meeting was held at the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) headquarters to discuss various aspects of the ASEAN nation's involvement in the AFC project which aims to assist participating Member Associations improve their refereeing administration.
MFF General Secretary Tin Aung and Chairman of the MFF Referees Committee Win Cho led the MFF delegation, while AFC Referees Development Administrator Shuichiro Hara represented the continental football body, during the meeting.
During the meeting, Tin Aung expressed his appreciation for the AFC’s support in the federation’s refereeing development especially through this project.
“Much of the recent progress of the MFF Refereeing Development has been made because of AFC recommendations and the MFF will continue trying to do its best in this regard,” said Tin Aung.
“MFF has enhanced the communication with the nation’s Regional Referees Committee and developed higher relationship with them. We’d also like AFC’s continuous support to develop our own teaching material which is much beneficial to raise the quality of MFF Referees.”
Several matters were discussed during the meeting including the appointment of a new Chairman of the MFF Referees Committee to solve the double role of the Director of MFF Referees Department during the MFF Referees Congress on March 23, appointment of new staff as part of the MFF Refereeing Department restructuring, referees courses, online referees registration and more.
