Astana: Kyrgyzstan found themselves on the receiving end of a 7-1 hammering at the hands of former AFC member association Kazakhstan in a one-sided international friendly at the Astana Arena on Friday.
Korona Kielce striker Sergey Khizhnichenko scored a first-half brace with the Poland-based forward finding the net in the 27th and 43rd minutes, with his goal coming either side of a Tanat Nusserbayev effort (36th minute) as the Kazakhs took a 3-0 lead into the interval.
Bauyrzhan Islamkhan continued the scoring ten minutes after the interval before Bauyrzhan Dzholchiev (70th), Ulan Konysbayev (81st) and Azat Nurgaliev (87th) all got their name on the score sheet.
The only positive for Kyrgyzstan was a 72nd minute goal from 21-year-old midfielder Kairat Zhyrgalbek Uulu, whose goal ensured that the Kazakhs didn't equal there biggest ever international victory, a 7-0 triumph over Pakistan in a 1998 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Lahore back in June 1997.
