Vientiane: Lao Football Federation Futsal Committee Chairman Viemgsavamh Semgchamh is upbeat with the prospects of developing more coaches for the Laotian futsal game.
The federation is organising an AFC Futsal Level 1 Coaching Certificate Course from 5 to 10 April at Lao Football Federation headquarters which is being attended by 19 participants.
The participants include three national women’s players and two SEA (Southeast Asia) Games national futsal assistant coaches with the rest consisting of people actively involved in football and futsal coaching.
The course aims at educating and developing futsal coaches in the nation with proper futsal information and coaching methods.
“I strongly believe that this coaching course will be able to develop more futsal coaches for Laos and these coaches are going to be responsible to train and produce more men’s and women’s futsal players in their provinces, schools or universities,” said Semgchamh during the opening ceremony of the course.
“We would like to thank the AFC and LFF for their approval to hold this course and LFF is planning to organise another AFC Futsal Level 1 course in the month of October before the futsal competition kicks off in December 2014.
“Special thanks to the AFC Futsal and Beach Soccer Development Department for its great support and assistance in all futsal matters to LFF. Speaking of development, refereeing is another area the country will look into in the near future.”
The course is conducted by AFC Futsal Instructor Chiew Chun Yong of Malaysia.
The Level 1 certificate is the basic futsal coaching credential from which holders can proceed to take the next and higher qualification, the Level 2 certificate.
