Kathmandu: Manang Marshyangdi Club will play in the opening match of the ANFA Cup against Jhapa FC at the Dasharath Stadium on September 2 ahead of their appearance in the last edition of the AFC President’s Cup later in the month.
The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) announced the fixtures on Wednesday following a meeting for managers from the participating clubs, the Himalayan Times has reported.
Manang, one of the two teams given top seeds during the ANFA Cup draw, are among eight teams taking part in the first major tournament on the Nepali calendar.
Manang advanced to the finals of the AFC President’s Cup after topping Group C in the group stages where they downed Cambodian outfit Svarieng FC 6-3 and drew 0-0 with FC Erchim of Mongolia (pictured).
They are in Group A of the finals to be hosted by Sri Lanka from September 20 to 26.
Manang will begin their campaign against Sri Lanka Air Force SC in the tournament’s opener on September 20, before taking on the other team in their group, FC HTTU from Turkmenistan.
