Sydney: Two-time A-League Footballer of the Year Mathew Ryan has signed a contract with Belgian side Club Brugge the Central Coast Mariners announced on Friday.
Ryan, who holds the A-League record for most consecutive clean sheets (12) and made 14 appearances in two AFC Champions League campaigns for the Mariners, joins the 13-time Belgian champions on a three-year-deal and has been described by Club Brugge Sporting Director Arnar Gretarsson as having ‘huge potential’
"He has been playing three years for the Australian top team Central Coast Mariners," Gretarsson said in a statement to AFP.
"Despite his young age he has gathered a lot of experience and he has been elected twice as best goalkeeper of Australia."
