Ulaanbaatar: The Mongolian Football Federation will organise a ‘Magic Ball’ project as part its Children-Football-Future grassroots programme under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Mongolia.
The grassroots football development project will involve all 800 primary and secondary schools in 21 provinces of the central Asian nation.
Along with this project, the MFF will also organise futsal competitions among all schools and provide them with the FIFA Grassroots Handbook translated into Mongolian language, futsal equipment and other other reading and teaching materials.
This project will be implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Sport and the capital city and provincial governing bodies.
The new Magic Ball project will help the MFF to bring together two main programmes which are organisation and coordination of grassroots and futsal activities among all primary and secondary schools on a regular basis throughout the whole year.
There are also other grassroots activities planned for the summer season such as grassroots courses and festivals at the MFF Football Centre and registered football clubs.
The MFF also plans to organise TV grassroots courses in cooperation with several TV channels aimed at teaching basic grassroots football elements to children who are unable to attend the courses face-to-face.
The move by the MFF is a sample of AFC Member Associations' own initiatives spurred by the AFC's Grassroots Year 2013.
The AFC's focus on grassroots last year encouraged its Member Associations to organise their own activities to promote and emphasise that football is accessible and socially beneficial to everyone.
Grassroots football also provides a strong foundation that will allow children to someday progress to the elite level if they choose to do so.
