Kalyani: Defending champions Bangladesh got their 2019 SAFF U-15 Championship off to a winning start while Nepal bounced back from an opening day loss to defeat Sri Lanka in Matchday Two action at the Kalyani Stadium on Friday.
Bangladesh overcame early resistance to defeat Bhutan 5-2 while Nepal, who had lost 5-0 to hosts India in their opening match on Wednesday, defeated Sri Lanka 2-0.
Kalyani: India started their 2019 SAFF U-15 Championship campaign with a resounding win over Nepal while Sri Lanka came from behind to defeat Bhutan on Wednesday.
Hosts India were in fine form against Nepal, scoring a 5-0 win at the Kalyani Stadium, while Sri Lanka edged Bhutan 3-2 to get their first three points in the five-team tournament.
The top two teams at the end of the round robin competition will square off in the final on August 31 with the tournament serving as valuable exposure ahead of the 2020 AFC U-16 Championship Qualifiers in September.
Malaysia edge Thailand for title, Indonesia finish third
Chonburi: Malaysia came back from a goal down to beat Thailand 2-1 to clinch their second AFF U-15 Championship title, while Indonesia finished third after a thrilling penalty shootout win against Vietnam on Friday.

In a rematch of their Group B fixture less than a week ago, Thailand came into the match as favourites after beating defending champions Indonesia in the semi-finals.
Dushanbe: Tajikistan completed a superb week on home soil, defeating Afghanistan 1-0 and confirming their status as CAFA U-16 Championship winners on Thursday.
A second-half strike from Abdulfatoh Khudoidodzoda ultimately sealed the title for Tajikistan, who won four matches in a row to finish the five-match programme on top of the table with 13 points.
Earlier in the day, Uzbekistan had kept their hopes of an improbable final day title bid alive with a thumping win over Turkmenistan, but Tajikistan’s success in the later match meant Azamat Abduraimov’s side finished as runners-up
