Kuala Lumpur: More AFC Member Associations have embraced the technology and are learning the new online mechanism to register their players and officials for AFC competitions.
AFC Administration System (AFCAS) Online Registration Workshop opened on Friday to train 29 participants from 24 countries.
The new system will do away with the current practice, where the Member Associations email or fax the players’ details to AFC.
“A similar seminar was held last year for six Member Associations - Australia, Japan, Korea Republic, UAE, Qatar and Iran - and we have expanded it to other Member Associations this time,” AFC Director of ICT Department Raymond Tey told the-afc.com.
The participating countries in this seminar are Bahrain, Bhutan, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Oman, Palestine, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Yemen.
“We have given attention to all aspects of football in this Elite Education Seminar 2012 as it’s very important to address issues related to administration, referees, coaches, media, marketing, etc which will help in the competition organisation,” AFC Deputy General Secretary and Director of Education Department Hasan Al Sabah said while opening the workshop.
Stressing on the importance of the workshop to the participants, he said: “AFCAS online registration system is very important for our record and administration. I would like you to interact and share your experiences with fellow participants which will enhance your knowledge.”
AFCAS online registration workshop is one of the several new courses introduced in the Elite Education Seminar of 2012. During the course, discussions will centre around introduction of AFC Administration System (AFCAS), Online Registration Process and practice sessions amongst the participants.
