Kuala Lumpur: Coach education administration will soon be a breeze with the use of online technology that will be extended to AFC Member Associations in phases.
A training course was held at AFC House in the Malaysian capital on Thursday for administrators from two pilot Member Associations -- Malaysia and Singapore -- on the use of the new AFC Course Online Registration system.
The training, delivered by Software Solution Architect in the AFC Information and Communication Technology Department Liyaj Maliyakkal, aimed to prepare Member Associations’ administrators to undertake all the necessary processes and manage coach education administration matters electronically.
Member Associations will be able to register AFC coaching courses, applicants and local instructors online through the system instead of filling up various hard-copy forms to be submitted to the AFC as currently done.
The online registration platform was developed by the AFC Information and Communication Technology Department in close consultation with the AFC Coach Education Department over the last two years.
“Work processes and productivity will be improved at the work place, both in AFC and our MAs through the implementation of this system for coach education courses,” said caretaker of the AFC Technical Division Mohamed Basir.
“We are harnessing the internet in the management and delivery of our courses to enhance coach education in our vast continent. Beside online course management, we are also working with our partners to develop an e-learning platform."
"These services will be extended not only to all our Member Associations, but also to the state FAs and eventually we would like to enable individuals to apply online to enroll on AFC coaching courses.
"Our appreciation and thanks go out to Football Association of Malaysia and Football Association of Singapore for their involvement in this pilot phase."
