Persepolis to start Iran Pro League title defence against Saipa

Tehran: Persepolis FC's defence of their Iran Pro League title will start against Saipa on October 31. 

Persepolis, who have qualified for the 2020 AFC Champions League final, will be aiming for a fifth consecutive Iran Pro League title.

Persepolis' Khalilzadeh voted as winner of AFC Champions League 2020 Goal of the West

Kuala Lumpur: Shojae Khalilzadeh's effort for Persepolis FC against UAE's Sharjah has been voted as the AFC Champions League 2020 Goal of the West.

Khalilzadeh got the Islamic Republic of Iran champions on the road to a victory they needed to advance to the Round of 16 with his header as Persepolis scored a 4-0 win in their Matchday Six tie.

Isa Town: Al Muharraq won the 2019-20 Bahraini King’s Cup with a 1-0 win over Al Hidd at Khalifa Sports City Stadium on Monday.

Dubai: A second-half double from Igor Sergeev made all the difference as Uzbekistan defeated United Arab Emirates 2-1 in an international friendly at Dubai’s Rashid Stadium on Monday.

With star striker Eldor Shomurodov absent, Sergeev made the most of his opportunity, scoring in the 48th and 86th minutes before UAE debutant Sebastián Tagliabúe pulled back a goal from the penalty spot in the dying minutes.

Antalya: Reigning AFC Asian Cup champions Qatar suffered a 5-1 defeat to Ghana in an international friendly at the Mardan Sports Complex in Turkey on Monday.

Qatar, who were playing their first international match in 11 months, held their own in the first half which finished 1-1 but found Ghana hard to contain in the second period.
