Defender Mousa Haroon opened the scoring in the 75th minute before Brazilian Rodrigo Tabata sealed the win with five minutes left to play as Al Rayyan successfully defended the trophy the won last year by defeating Al Sadd in the 2012/13 final. Al Rayyan, who were eliminated from this year's AFC Champions League at the group stage, will open their 2012/13 Qatar Stars League campaign on Friday, when the Sheikh Jassim Cup winners take on defending QSL champions Al Sadd.
