Buenos Aires: Japan took the silver medal after falling 4-1 to Portugal in the Youth Olympics Women's Futsal Tournament Buenos Aires 2018 final at the Main Futsal Hall on Wednesday.
Portugal, who had triumphed 2-0 when the two sides met in the group stage, left Japan with a mountain to climb after taking a 3-0 lead in the first half.
Ana Sofia Goncalves, nicknamed Fifo, was the Portugal hero, scoring all four goals with her first stunning Japan just eight seconds into the match.
