Amman: Jordan have announced their squad for the AFC Asian Cup with head coach Ray Wilkins selecting a mix of youth and experience as Jordan look to win their maiden continental championship.
The side will be manned by veteran internationals Ahmed Hayel, Amer Safi and Odai Al Saify who have all played in previous AFC Asian Cups.
After reaching the quarter-finals of the 2011 tournament, Wilkins will be hoping he can inspire his side to higher honours in Australia.
Jordan’s campaign will kick-off when they take on 2007 AFC Asian Cup winners Iraq at Brisbane Stadium on January 12.
They will then face 2014 AFC Challenge Cup winners Palestine on January 16 before their toughest test awaits when they come up against defending champions Japan on January 20.
