However, after a spirited dressing-room discussion between both players and head coach Ijiri Akira, Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan’s penalty and a late strike from Van Su subsequently saw Vietnam seal a crucial opening day success – a victory which leaves the 2004 quarter-finalists occupying second spot in the Group A standings.
