Kuala Lumpur: It’s hard to believe a decade has passed since Iraq stunned the world to lift the AFC Asian Cup for the first time in one of the most heartwarming football stories ever to be told.
On this day 10 years ago – July 7, 2007 – the first-ever multi-host AFC Asian Cup kicked off as Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam staged what would end up being one of the most talked about tournaments in recent memory as the war-torn nation enjoyed fairytale success.
