Hong Kong: Australia thrashed Macau 14-1 to go top of Group G in the ongoing AFC U-16 Championship 2014 qualifiers tournament on Wednesday.
Nicholas D’Agostino, Caio Maia Godoy, Jamal Damain and Kosta Prtratos scored a brace apiece for the Joeys. Also on the scoresheet were Tommy John, Danny Kim, Joe Kato, Gain Mendez, Charlie Robert and second-half substitute Daniel Max.
Macau’s consolation goal was scored by Vong Chak Man in the 56th minute. After suffering their third defeat in as many matches, they are rooted at the bottom of Group G.
Australia, who had defeated Chinese Taipei 7-0 in their previous match, have six points from two matches. They face host Hong Kong who are second in the table with inferior goal difference to the Australians on Friday.
