Vientiane: Laos picked up their first win of the AFC U-16 Championship qualifiers on Wednesday when the Group H hosts hammered Guam 9-0 to go second in the standings above Malaysia on goal difference.
Laithaya Sisongkham opened the scoring in the 13th minute before Sinthanong Phanvongsa, who last-gasp equaliser earned Laos a point from their Group H opener against the Malaysians on Monday, doubled the home side’s lead eight minutes later.
Hatsady Keoheuangsy scored the first of his four goals in the 28th minute as Laos took a 3-0 lead which was doubled by the 65th minute when Hatsady scored his second to make it 6-0, with Lathasay Lounlasy (50th) and another from Sinthanong (52nd) scoring the fourth and fifth respectively.
Hatsady hit his hat-trick in the 69th minute and added another five minutes later before fellow midfielder Maitee sealed the win with 12 minutes left on the clock.
