Kuala Lumpur: The stage is set and anticipation is building as the Continent’s national teams gear up to secure their spot in the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Saudi Arabia 2025. The Qualifiers, kicking off on Saturday, October 19, will witness Asia’s brightest young talent engage in fierce contests for a chance to shine on the journey to football glory.

Following Lebanon’s withdrawal since the draw in June this year, 42 sides have been split into 10 groups – six of four, one of three and three of five – to battle in a centralised league format, which runs until October 27.

Kuala Lumpur: The draw for the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ 2025 Qualifiers was finalised at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday.

The 43 teams were divided into 10 groups - seven of four each and three of five - with the Qualifiers to be played between October 19 and 27, 2024.

The 10 group winners and five best second-placed teams will advance to the Finals, with Saudi Arabia scheduled to host the tournament.

Pathum Thani: Japan became the first side to have their name engraved on the new AFC U17 Asian Cup™ trophy after defeating 10-man Korea Republic 3-0 in the Thailand 2023 final at the Pathum Thani Stadium on Sunday.

Gaku Nawata scored twice with Yutaka Michiwaki netting the third after Korea Republic had been reduced to 10 men in the 44th minute with Japan adding the title to the three AFC U-16 Championship crowns won previously.
