Satdobato: Manang Marshyangdi Club beat the Nepal U-16 national team 2-0 in their friendly match on Friday at ANFA Complex as part of their preparations for the 2014 AFC President’s Cup and AFC U-16 Championship respectively.
Sujal Shresta and Dodoz scored a goal apiece for Manang (pictured) who qualified for the finals of the last edition of the AFC President’s Cup after topping Group C in the group stages where they opened their campaign with a 6-3 hammering of Cambodian outfit Svarieng FC.
Manang have been drawn into Group A of the six-club tournament finals which will be held in September in Sri Lanka and will kick off their campaign against the hosts’ representatives Sri Lanka Air Force SC on September 20.
They will take on another foe in their group, Turkmenistan outfit HTTU, the next day.
Meanwhile, the Nepal U-16 national team will be in action in Bangkok, Thailand, for their continental show also in September.
The Colts are in Group C of the AFC U-16 Championship along with reigning champions Uzbekistan, Kuwait and DPR Korea and will kick off their campaign against the Uzbeks on September 7.
The top four nations will represent Asia at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Chile 2015.
