DPR Korea stay on course for title

Bali: DPR Korea held off China PR’s spirited challenge to secure a 1-0 win in their AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™ Indonesia 2024 semi-final on Thursday to set up a tantalising title fight against Japan.

The win at Capt. I Wayan Dipta Stadium saw an impressive DPR Korea dominate most of the match to extend their win and clean sheet streaks to four matches, as well as book their spot in the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Dominican Republic 2024.

Japan cruise into final

Bali: Japan defeated Korea Republic 3-0 in their AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™ Indonesia 2024 semi-final at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium on Thursday.

The four-time AFC U16 Women’s Championship winners will meet DPR Korea - who beat China PR 1-0 in the other last four tie - in a tantalising final on Sunday.

Korea Republic will meet China PR in the third-place playoff, with the winners joining Japan and DPR Korea at the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Dominican Republic 2024.

Kikuchi blossoming nicely for Japan

Bali: Hana Kikuchi not only scored her first goal for Japan in her side’s 4-0 win against China PR at the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™ Indonesia 2024, but she also added a second to ensure the defending champions finished the group stage unbeaten.

“These are my first goals for Japan after playing for the national team for a year,” she said. “I failed to find the net in the previous matches because I was very nervous as this is my first Asian Cup, but I did score against China PR and I’m very happy.”
